Alfred Binet was an only child he had no siblings. His father was a physician many of his ancestors were physicians on both sides of the family and his mother was an artist (painter) this is where he inherited his artistic ability. Binet had two daughters Armande and Marguerite. Binet wife name was Laure Balbiani. Binet studied law and received his law degree. Although Binet worked as a lawyer he later realized that was not the field he wanted to pursue. Binet completed his secondary schooling in Lycee Louis ie Grand in Paris at the age of 15. Binet attended school in Sorbonne where he studied natural sciences and received his PhD, but was not interested in schooling so he began to self-educate himself in psychology by reading books by various authors such as; Charles Darwin and John Stuart Mill rather receiving proper graduate training. Some of Binet other passions were writing and producing dramatic plays, four of which were set to play in Paris. Binet later helped developed the Intelligence test with Theodore Simon. This test helped measure the intelligence of school aged children. Alfred Binet died on October 18, 1911 in Paris France, he was 54 years old when he
