Steve Tran 1-19-16 7-A Ancient Greece Provided Greater Accomplishments Period 2 Which do you think is better, Greece’s accomplishment of them taking the first step to medicine and actually studying the diseases, or Rome’s accomplishment for inventing some lousy first calendar. Although both Greeks and the Romans achieved great accomplishments I believe only one can be the greatest. .The Greeks had greater accomplishments, such as the advance of science, many discoveries in math, and the first to have democracy. The Greeks made far more advances in science than the Romans. One of these would be that archaeologist found a certain goblet. What was so special about it is that if you were to shine a light behind it the front would turn red. The scientist found that there the ancient Greeks compressed gold and silver until it was 50 nanometers in diameter. All of this is proof that the Greeks used nanotechnology back in ancient times! Some of these things are geometry, trigonometry, and the Thales intercept theorem. Trigonometry was invented by Hipparchus, geometry was invented by Euclid, and the inventor of the intercept theorem was obviously Thales. They did even more than this by improving methods in math.
