“Unlike other concentration camps, it was originally designed as a holding pen”
So this “holding pen” was formed into a concentration camp and it was located in Poland. There were even several hundreds of 3 tier wooden bunk beds. It was so crowded only a few people could stand up at once. Although jews were not the only target they were the main target out of everybody that came from all the European states there we approximately 1,100,00 jews in Auschwitz.

One of the reasons that Auschwitz was so awful was because of the prison guards.
Guards would lie just so it would benefit them even if they had to take a jews life away.
“As the prisoners would be running, The guard / officer would shoot them. Then they would claim that the prisoner was trying to escape and get 3 days off for foiling it.”These guards had no heart +because first they were a Natzi and they were killing innocent jews for no reason. They would take someone’s life away just for 3 days off being a guard or officer to be making sure no one runs away. The guards were so awful but they were also so lazy
These guards were so lazy they wouldn't even Bury the dead
