Buddy Rich was born on September 30, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York with the birth name Bernard Rich. From early on in life, Rich displayed extreme talent not only as a drummer, but as a performer in general. Rich could also sing and dance but drumming was his natural talent as he learned how to play by himself with no formal lessons. Alongside his parents, Rich performed on the Vaudeville Stage when he was merely a year and six months old and continued to perform throughout his childhood. *CITE* biography. In so, Rich performed in significant places such as Broadway and toured throughout Australia when he was just a young boy. In 1966, he formed his own band, toured with them extensively, and found utter success through this project. Also, Rich found success as a club owner when he opened two nightclubs called Buddy’s Place and Buddy’s Place II.
