Canada changed greatly during the war, people changed, the economy changed and Canada gained independence outside of Britain. With these changes, it couldn't have happened without impacts from the war on Canada’s Homefront. Men were forced to become soldiers and the ones who weren't, were working to produce the supplies needed. Although not everyone agreed upon this, many believed helping another nation on the other side of the world wasn't the right thing to do. Canada became one of the highest supplying nations to the war effort, boosting its economy higher than ever before. In order to do this, Canada had to pay the price, as we will soon find out.

As time went on through the war, years passed by and soldiers needed help, they were lacking medical supplies, food, and equipment to fight in the war. It wasn't until later on in the war organizations were formed to support this. One of the biggest organizations that helped soldiers with medical needs was the Red Cross. Soon into the war, women worked everywhere, factories, farms, fishing boats, and even overseas for the Red cross. Even though the women weren't normally the ones out on the battlefield some still felt working in munition factories very stressful, for two reasons.
