Immigration in nineteenth century America did not only change the American landscape, but also impacted the people who lived there. Though some may question whether or not immigration positively or negatively impacted America, it is clear to say that during the nineteenth century that immigration has caused major developments in America. Tension from coast to coast caused political transformations throughout America. Thus creating change in American society; if mass immigration had not occurred then new laws and regulations would not have been established. Some historians believed a majority of the white cultures easily meshed within the American culture; they had the same beliefs as much of the current American population.
