Ancient China has become a significant part of history. Beginning at around 2000 BCE, did China flourish in advancing its civilization and creating new traditions. This advancement of a new culture and creating a new civilization, created an influential stance on China. Over time, China has had several factors that has contributed to the growth of Chin and its dynasties. All of the different factors had an immense impact on China. The two forces that stand out the most to me is the tradition of ancestry worship and the status of peasants within the philosophy of Confucianism. One of the many dynasties that these two forces had an impact on is the Zhou dynasty (1046 – 256 BCE). The next force that contributed to Chinese culture is the status of peasants within the philosophy of Confucianism. Confucius has a belief in having a specified role in a relationship. Whether it is father to son, older to younger and so on, he believed that someone is above the other constantly and has control over a relationship. So it is only natural, that within a dynasty where there is a royal family, the people that are not of that nature have to respect those above them, based on Confucius beliefs. This particularly pertained to peasants since they are at the bottom of the hierarchy during ancient China. “Peasants…were a key element. They carried out vital and supportive functions such as sowing and reaping”. Even though peasants were at the bottom, they held an important role throughout Chinese culture. They provided their rulers with whatever they needed and took care of land. Also, peasant farmers cultivated food throughout each dynasty.
