How Christianity Changed History The Roman Empire allowed people to have freedom of religion which allowed people to express their own faith to themselves and to others. This is how Jesus was able to spread the word of God. At first people were okay with it but after a while people felt threatened. Some people saw him as a Potential Threat who might lead a mutiny against the Roman Empire. After Jesus's death his followers proclaimed that he had risen from the dead and they has seen him. They believe that Jesus was the anointed one or (Messiah). Jesus's apostles spread the belief that Jesus was the Savior, the Son of God who came to Earth to save Humanity.
