How Did Church Reform Affect The Northern Renaissance

The Protestant Reformation is the period of transitioning from medieval to modern times. During the Protestant Reformation, technology made a huge impact. Warfare such as cannons and gunpowder, printing technology such as the printing press enhanced Europe. The influence of Italian Renaissance artist spread throughout Northern Europe. Northern Renaissance consisted of literature figure Shakespeare and visual figures from Flemish and German. They shared their concerns for human natural through protest and a plea of church reform. This took off through printing press by Johannes Gutenberg. He created different religions that were based on his own (Lutheran). Many religions, for instance, Calvinist, Anabaptist, and Anglican were some of the religions that followed Luther’s beliefs. Calvinist are strong supporters of John Calvin, who started a government that abides by the bible. Calvin believed the “Doctrine of Predestination”. It basically says in order to glorify God you have to live the most upbringing life of faith and obedience and be against gambling drunkenness and more. Anabaptist are individuals that practice rebaptizing. They consider themselves separate from the church and the state. Anabaptist follows Luther’s interpretation of individual responsibility as a source of God’s grace. Many Anabaptist were killed by the government however, other religions for example, baptist and Quakers follows their fundamental approach to the bible. Both the Calvinist and Anabaptist share the same view of music. Despite following Luther's views they believed that music was a distraction. Although Calvinist changed their ways and began to include congregational singing of psalms. Continuing to the Anglican religion, it comes from the Anglican church. It was created by Henry VIII. He used the church so he would be the ultimate leader after he was declined for annulling his marriage. With this new power, Henry closed everything that belongs to the Christians and sold it for a lot of revenue. It causes lots of chaos and hostility between the Anglicans and Roman
