Introduction

In this paper, I attempt to discuss my opinion on the transformation of the western world and the influence that the ancient Greek civilization played in this revolution in the society and cultures of our modern world.

Do you agree with the statement that Classical Greece influenced modern Western society and culture?

I do think that the civilization of Classical Greece had a significant impact on contemporary Western society and culture. This can be attributed to the fact that the legacy of ancient Greece has endured through the ages and had a significant influence on the advancement of Western civilization. Democracy: Ancient Greece is credited with being the birthplace of democracy, and the democratic principles that were developed in Greece continue to be central to modern Western political systems.

Literature: The epic poems of Homer, such as the Iliad and the Odyssey, have had a lasting impact on Western literature and continue to be widely read and studied.

Architecture: The architectural styles and techniques developed by the ancient Greeks continue to be used and adapted in modern Western architecture, as evidenced by the revival of classical styles in the Renaissance and the use of Greek motifs in modern buildings.

Science: The works of ancient Greek scientists such as Hippocrates and Galen have had a lasting impact on the development of Western medicine and continue to be studied and used by modern medical professional.

Religion: The ancient Greek religion, with its gods, myths, and rituals, continues to be a source of inspiration and influence in modern Western culture, especially in terms of literature, art, and popular culture.

These examples show how ancient Greece's ideas, achievements, and innovations continue to shape and influence modern Western society and culture.

Conclusion

Indeed ancient cultures and tradition still lives today but has taken on different transformation garments, but at the core, it is still very ancient and yet relevant today. This exercise is a good way to have a look back in history and explore the origins of the cultures and traditions that are sown into our families, societies, communities, countries and universe at large.
