Cyrus the Great who can also be referred to as Cyrus II, is widely known for him capturing Babylon, having the one largest civilizations know to date as well as him being one of the many kings of Ancient Persia. Or as I know him as being the best ruler of all time. Taking over Persia held him accountable for many of the civilizations needs specifically the economy. The economy has to deal with the management of resources available as well as wealth as a whole. Cyrus the Great was a key to the economy of Persia because he established a government system called satraps, created a civilization with stable agriculture, and changed the barter economy to a money economy. Starting off his empire it was a barter economy. A barter is when you trade one good for another making an equal is exchange. Cyrus would trade his natural resources, tools, and even livestock with other civilizations to make a trade that was fair in their eyes. They’d also trade service for items from one another. Cyrus the great created a coin system in which items now had to be paid for now. From this happening he had created silver and gold coins. This being changed helped gain money helping the economy out. This system has improved the world now because money is the main source of everything now days. Money is pretty much the one source the whole world has in common. Developing this system has not bought ease to just shopping but trade as well. Cyrus the great developed a civilization that still invented things that helped us not just then but now. I believe Cyrus the Great was the best ruler and bettered his economy because he established a government system called satraps, created a civilization with stable agriculture, and changed the barter economy to a money economy. Not only have these things improved the past and present which is showing Cyrus is still a part of our daily lifestyle
