Domestic and Foreign affairs throughout the early 1800s helped impact the creation and molding of American politics. During this time period America was starting to get involved with different foreign affairs and also the creation of factions. Factions started to form in America simultaneously as the country's documents were written. These groups were the Federalists and anti-Federalists. Throughout the 19th century America was impacted by foreign affairs, due to the creation of Factions and their involvement with the French and British war. Faction: a small organized dissenting group within a larger group, especially in politics. The creation of factions in American politics directly corresponds with the creation of the founding documents. During the creation of the constitution many ideas were put out there but the most common ideas were separated into groups. One group was the Federalists, a strong voice for the wealthy and elite, asking for a strong central government. This war consisted of fighting between the French and English. These global altercations made it back to America, causing the new country to pick a side. In doing so, America was forced to split between French and English support, inevitably causing separation in states, which was warned by Washington in his final address. This separation caused the War Hawks, a group of Southern Congressmen, to declare war on Britain because of their dislike of the British. The War Hawks during this act caused a large amount of distress in the new country, causing the Federalists to step up with their anti-war claims to counter the War Hawks statement.
