This recent presidential election has led to the creation of a more hostile nation. The person who I believe influenced this is, presidential candidate Donald Trump. Donald Trump himself did not create the acts of hate that we are witnessing, he caused them to rise in numbers by using racist and sexist messages in his campaign speech to encourage hateful people. As we are aware, racism and sexism has plagued America since it was founded. Hostilely has been in American long before this presidential election, however, Donald trump used hostility through his tone during his campaign, which consequently, caused a resurgence in hate crimes.
During his campaign, Trump targeted many different groups of people. He had many negative things to say about minorities and immigrants. For example, one of his most infamous quotes was about

... They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists.” Trump has also called Muslims terrorist and said they he would not allow them into our country. Many of Trumps followers viewed those remarks as justification for racism. They feel as though it is acceptable to harbor those feelings towards minorities and act upon them. There has been a large increase of hate crimes and hateful acts across American since Donald trump won the election. This has been verified by many news outlets including, but not limited to The Washington Post, The New Yorker, CNN, and Forbes. These sources say that the acts are inspired by Trumps’ vicious language. Many of the people who are committing these crimes often repeat things that Trump has said. For example, the was an incident at a middle school were students began chanting “build a wall” at other Mexican students. In addition, there was another incident were students at a high school were carrying
