The History of Elvis Presley

Have you ever wondered who the “King of Rock” was? Well, he was the one and only Elvis Presley. Elvis had a huge impact on the music industry and was very successful. He had accomplished many things and achieved many awards throughout his career.
Elvis Presley was born on January 9, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi, and died on August 16, 1977. He and his family had moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he graduated from L.C. Humes High School in 1953. He was interested in music at a young age and began his music career in 1954 with the Sun Records label in Memphis. Elvis was inducted into five Halls of Fame, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Country, Gospel, Rockabilly, and R&B. He has sold more than one billion records worldwide. He was also famous for saying “Don’t criticize what you don’t understand, son. You never walked in that man’s shoes.”
In 1958, He was drafted into the military the same year his mother died. He was stationed in West Germany, where he met Priscilla Beaulieu. He never saw battle during his draft period and later left the army in 1960. He continued his life of luxury, but Elvis’s popularity started to decrease, so in 1968, Elvis decided to record his first TV special known as the “68 Comeback”. He had amazed his audience and soon his popularity boomed back up again. Regardless of his popularity, Elvis wanted a family of his own.
On May 1st, 1967, Elvis Presley married Priscilla Beaulieu, who he had met while serving in the army. They got married in Las Vegas, Nevada, and traveled on a honeymoon to Palm Springs. Elvis and Priscilla had one daughter named Lisa Marie Presley, who was born on February 1st, 1968. During those few years, Elvis was very happy with how his life was going, but that soon came to an end. He started eating lots of greasy food and started gaining weight. Elvis performed concerts during the day and participated in parties at night, and that resulted in him living nocturnally. Elvis did not get a lot of sleep and he ended up taking things to keep him awake as an outcome of living nocturnally. Regardless of these health problems, Elvis worked hard and kept going on and performing till the end. Sadly Elvis’s very last concert was on June 26, 1977.
Elvis died on August 16, 1977, at the age of 42, in his home in Tennessee. His cause of death was heart failure, and it was most likely caused by his health problems and bad habits. He was buried in Graceland in the Meditation Garden next to his mansion.
Elvis still is, a huge impact on music history. He won many awards, such as NME Awards and three Grammy awards. He was also inducted into many Halls of Fame. Elvis is one of the top-selling artists, with 18 No. 1 hits and 38 top 10
