There is so much music around the world today, it has been like this for years. Without music people would not be able to live today, a world with no music? Very strange place, yet strange sounds create amazing music. Behind the music there is an artist, a creator, a master, and a mind that takes time to realize how to put notes together to form a masterpiece so it can be heard for generations. From young children to adults music can be appreciated by all, there is no bad music, everybody has a different style to their ear. This type of music will never be heard of in American radio, especially since its really commercialized, Afrobeat music, a genre unheard off today. Fela Kuti was from Africa, Abeokuta, Nigeria. Born on October 15, 1938. He came from a upper middle class family, his father was a pastor, a school principle, first president of the Nigeria Union of Teachers and a talented pianist, his mother was a feminist activist in the anit-colonial, anit-military Nigerian home rule movement. Since a young age Kuti experienced politics and music throughout his life. His parents wanted Kuti to study medicine so they sent him to London in 1958 instead Kuti enrolled at the Trinity College of music. At this college Kuti would study classical music and American Jazz. Kuti’s choice of instrument was the trumpet and during this time he formed a band called Koola Lobitos in 1961 and became popular in London quick.
