One of the biggest personal changes for women was the way they were able to dress. Back then, your average woman would be seen wearing a dress most of the time. However, in the 1920’s you would pass by women wearing shorter skirts and noticeable makeup. For women, this signified something greater than short skirts and makeup. This signified a new era of personal expression and living outside of expected social norms. With these new fashion changes we begin to become knowledgeable about “flappers.” Flappers were “rebellious women” that dressed more provocatively and were seen as free spirited but dangerous.
