The Civilian Conservation Corps was one of President Roosevelt's first and one of the most successful New Deal programs for unemployment relief. Formed in March of 1933 and lasting through July of 1942, the federally funded program employed over 3 million men to help preserve the nation's environment while helping to improve the economic condition during the Great Depression. The program had many advantages: it prevented young men from becoming criminals giving them hope, discipline, skills, and an improved behavior while preserving our nation's environment, and it helped in the decline of unemployment. The Civilian Conservation Corps, referred to as "Roosevelt's Tree Army", was under a military-like control.

Societal Influences on Professional Nursing The nursing profession is an evolving field of work that shows no signs of stopping. With advancements in technology and education, the nursing profession must change in order to keep up with the rest of society. There are many changing societal factors that are influencing nursing as the year progress.

What do I know about being a critical care nurse? I know that being a Critical Care Nurse is a social job and it involves helping or providing service to others. This job provides advanced nursing care for patients in critical care units, commonly known as the ICU. There are many different activities that happen while being a critical care nurse, for example checking a patient's pain level, monitoring a patient for changes on their current status, and being an advocate for the patient's family. Today, I am glad I choose nursing because I have overcome my social fears, learn to be a team player, learn how to prioritize and most importantly learned to manage stress. Lastly, I grew as a nurse with each semester because I learned how to respect and treat each patient as a unique individual.
