When seeking inspiration in business today, there are an abundance of business leaders of yesteryear who are worthy of a closer look. For example, Andrew Carnegie, who was born in 1835 dominated the steel industry in his time and also understood the importance of giving back of what he had earned. It was estimated that he gave away an astounding $350 million throughout the last 18 years of his life. Walt Disney was another businessman worth admiration thanks to his out-of-the box thinking that inspired what is today a massive movie production company along with what remains one of the most iconic and popular theme parks in the world. It is said those around him thought him crazy for wanting to build a theme park in the middle of nowhere in Orlando. Today, look at how successful his company is, even he might be surprised at its present day state as he passed away in 1966 before the most recent explosion of growth in the company and amusement park.
