Shortly after Europe’s Middle Ages, the era of rebirth and creativity, the Renaissance commenced. The revival of great interest in values and classical learning of ancient Greece and Rome developed throughout Europe. From Political stability and the increase of prosperity, numerous new technology such as the printing press, the astrolabe from astronomers, and exploration of new places due to a better navigation tool. Additionally, the blossoming of different styles of painting, sculpting, and decorative arts emerged among the Renaissance in Italy throughout the late 14th century up to the late 15th century and early 16th century. Renaissance era captured the experience of individuality, beauty, and the perplexity of the natural world.

Leonardo Di Vinci created phenomenal works of art. From the “Mona Lisa”, to “The Last Supper”, and “The Baptism of Christ” his unparalleled ability to mimic light and shadow were extraordinary. Additionally, his paintings captured physical relationships between human figures, animals, and objects alike with the landscape surrounding them. Another sophisticated artist was Michelangelo Buonarroti. Michelangelo was inspirational with his drawing of the human body and other works on a vast scale. In the High Renaissance, he was the dominant sculptor producing art like the “Pieta” in St. Peter’s Cathedral and the “David” in Florence.
