Isaac Hayne, born September 23, 1745, then hanged on August 4, 1781, in Charleston,South Carolina, by British troops for espionage and treason was handed many extremely life-changing decisions. Starting as just a rice farmer and a member of the militia, American at heart private of the American Revolution. Isaac life had 2 main conflicts that had no choice but to be resolved. Being captured at the Siege of Charleston in March 1780 and to accept being cheated and go to war for the British against American commander Nathanael Greene. Ultimately, these conflicts were no walk through the park he rebelled and simply made his own path and paid for his rebelillism. Isaac Hayne will be remembered for his integrity for many years. This gave him basically no choice but to be a British prisoner or go home and be with his wife and children. Obviously, he signed the oath and went home. He had 2 main driving forces behind signing the oath. One driving force is a sentimental but also natural. This was that his wife and seven of their children were sick with smallpox and one of his children was already taken from smallpox at a very young age. The second driving force that Hayne had was that James Patterson the British commandant of Charleston South Carolina had a verbal agreement with Isaac that if he was called upon to fight for the British that he could decline so that gives him, even more, wiggle room to stray off from obeying Britain's orders and getting in a bigger conflict that he is already in. The signing of the oath that the British gave him was the main cause of his death, not saying it would have been better to for him to not sign the oath and to become a prisoner but circumstances would have been that he would have stayed alive just lived a miserable life but instead being away from Britain gave him more freedom so he has a bigger chance and more room to stray off and to get caught …show more content…

Also, a trustworthy military leader as the whole paper shows and had a very intelligent mind and overall gave his life for our country so today we could have freedom.
