I believe that Jay Wilds is responsible for the death of Hae Min Lee. There is no way that Adnan could have committed this murder. He testified that he helped Adnan bury Hae Min Lee's body, and his testimony was used as evidence against Adnan in the trial. Jay's testimony has been called into question and was a central point of discussion in the Serial podcast. Jay Wilds' testimony was called into question by some people, including the creators of the Serial podcast, because of inconsistencies in his statements. For example, Jay provided different accounts of where and when he saw Adnan and Hae's car on the day of the murder, and he changed his story about when he learned that Hae had been killed. Additionally, Jay's testimony was not supported by other evidence in the case, such as phone records, which seemed to contradict his claims about his movements on the day of the murder.
Detective Deirdre Enright says, “You don’t have enough to put Adnan away, not to me you don’t,” in episode seven of the Serial podcast. Sarah Koenig is the narrator of this podcast, and she delivers the evidence in an unbiased tone so that the audience can develop their own stance on the case, without being subconsciously swayed by her opinion. The case focuses on the trial of Adnan Syed, and debates whether or not he killed Hae Min Lee on January 13th, 1999. After weighing in all the facts, rumors, and theories, the only logical answer is that Adnan is, without a doubt, innocent of murdering Hae Lee. Pretty much the only thing the prosecution has to go off of is the cell phone records of that day.
Jay’s story shifts from statement to statement, and from trial to trial. It’s not the calm recollection of an involved party, but the remorseless web of lies from a guilty man. Through the multiple times I listened to the Serial podcast, and vigorously wrote down notes during each episode, I have finally come up with a conclusion or conspiracy theory on who murdered Hae Min Lee. Serial follows the real life story of the murder of Hae Min Lee, a senior at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore County, Maryland. Her body was discovered in nearby Leakin Park a month later. She had been strangled to death by someone’s bare hands. Soon after, her 17-year-old ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was arrested, tried, and convicted of the murder.
But if look at Jay's testimony he doesn’t have an alibi for that time frame. Many argue that it couldn’t possibly have been Jay because he didn’t have any motive to kill Hae, but I can argue he did because after Adnan's and Hae’s breakup Adnan was depressed and probably talked a lot about his feelings to Jay. This could even explain the conversation Jay mentions in his testimony where Adnan, under the influence of marijuana and on emotions, says, “I’m going to kill her [Hae].” But Jay was also under the influence of marijuana and after hearing lots of complaining from Adnan about Hae and the breakup, Jay could have decided to go talk to Hae about it. But the conversation soon turned into a argument, then with some harsh decision making while under the influence, Jay ended up killing
Jay cases to have helped Syed in the internment of Lee and to have permitted Syed access to his auto and scoops to cover Lee. Syed, be that as it may, in late reports and podcasts, has asserted to be blameless of the wrongdoing. Syed does not have much data in regards to the day of the murder and states, "I
Up until he was killed, he claimed his innocence. He called for DNA tests, none of the results pointing to him. Witnesses from the crime scene had claimed there was blood everywhere, but not on Lee. He was executed anyways. The world may never know if he was truly innocent or not, but the decision was made and carried out before there was proof he even did anything wrong.
However, the beginning ends with detectives interviewing Jay, an acquaintance of Adnan, who claims that Adnan repeatedly spoke about murdering Hae, and called him when he had supposedly
Some possible motives that may have caused Jay to lie are that he murdered Hae but blamed it on Adnan or that he knew Hae's killer and tried to help cover it up by blaming the ex-boyfriend. One theory could be that Jay murdered Hae because he was jealous of Adnan's good relationship with his girlfriend, Stephanie. Therefore, he intentionally tried to meet with Adnan on the day of the murder so they could be seen together and then be able to frame him by providing the police a well-planned story. Unfortunately, Adnan had no recollection of this day's events to provide to the police. Another theory is that Jay was a good friend with Hae's actual killer and helped him escape the law by blaming Adnan.
Adnan Syed, Hae’s ex-boyfriend, was convicted of the murder and was sentenced to life in prison. Throughout the Serial Podcast, we are shown many different points of view of whether or not Adnan Syed was guilty or innocent. I believe that Adan Syed is guilty of murdering Hae Minn Lee because he doesn’t recall or remember much of what happened the day she went missing, and his location of where he was that day and what he was doing
He has a 50 percent chance of going to a state where he doesn’t remember himself doing any bodily harm to Hae. Jay ultimately helped the cops solve the case with his first hand experience of being with Adnan for the most part of his quest to kill Hae and assist to bury Hae and leaving her car behind. Ultimately Jay may have had some inconsistencies but for the most part he kept his story a lined. I mean what are the chances of getting the right story to fit the cell records for the major events that happens during the crime

In court, the state of Maryland uses Jay’s testimony to prove Adnan’s innocence. Police interview Jay multiple times before the trial. In each of the interviews, Jay testifies differently. “In the first taped interview, Jay says Adnan only told him that same day that he was going to kill Hae. Two weeks later, Jay says that Adnan had started talking about it beforehand - four or five days before”(Episode 4. 00:25:39-00:25:51).
These two reasons are all that a person should need to believe that Adnan didn't have enough motive, or time, to kill Hae. Jays testimony sets the timeline and proves there is enough evidence, which is not presented by Adnan’s lawyer, to say Adnan is innocent by a straying story. The time period where Hae could've been killed does not match Adnan’s timeline. Jay, who is a convicted felon, was the only witness and is trusted to give a good story. Cristina Gutierrez, who was Adnan’s lawyer, had medical issues that distracted her from using useful information in his case.
