The Influence that John Locke's writings had on the Declaration of Independence was very strong. John Locke believed that people were naturally born with rights for multiple reasons, which is one reason why he helped impact the Declaration of Independence. Another reason is because of the government, John Locke believed that the only reason for the government was to protect our natural rights.
