Junot Diaz is a Hispanic-American writer that struggled his life as an immigrant in his early years here in America. He began to write as a way to get away from his problem, but his writing brought unexpected fame to his life. His work may be criticized, but it has brought huge impacts into the lives of others who went through his same struggles. Diaz was born in the Dominican Republic, and lived there for a few years until his father had the opportunity to bring his family to the United States. When he arrived here to the United States, he lived the beginning of his years in Parlin, New Jersey. Diaz began to read a lot and start to write, most of his reading done was to get better in english, and most of his writing was done to reflect his problems on a piece of paper (Newsmakers). As Diaz was growing up, he saw how his mother began to raised and take care of 5 kids, and started to work multiple jobs.
