Lincoln, a person who just wanted to end slavery. Ever since Abraham Lincoln was a teenager he thought slavery was wrong. He became a lawyer to help out with slavery issues.Lincoln said, “ I have always hated it but I have always been quiet about it until this new era of the introduction of the Nebraska Bill began.” That is when Lincoln got into politics and became president. So he could stop slavery for good (Hopkins).
Abraham Lincoln was a teenage assistant in Bloomington, a law office. That was when he was introduced into law. When Lincoln was older he became a lawyer. In May 1860, Lincoln is an unlikely candidate that won the Republican vote. When Lincoln was president he tried to end slavery at first. But the U.S. Constitution protected slavery by leaving the states in control, and it gave the president 's no power to free the slaves. Lincoln was Commander in Chief in army forces so he had power in wartime that does not have in peacetime. So he decided to claim liberate slaves and ordered the Union Army to free the slaves that were in the country’s open rebellion areas. This issued a preliminary version of the Emancipation Proclamation on September 22, 1862.
