Louis was only five years old when he and his brother were sent to live with their List grandparents on a farm outside of Boston. This time was initially difficult for young Louis, but it was here where Louis first discovered his transcendental love of nature. It was a time he felt free, viewed nature as his own personal escape, and saw it as a part of him.
