Speaker, activist, and a Civil Rights Leader, these three words that people connect to Martin Luther King Jr. Many people know that Martin Luther King was a speaker for the Civil Rights Movement but he was so much more. As a well known Civil Rights Activists, Martin Luther King Jr. showed Americans that they were wrong segregating and judging people from the color of their skin. He left a lasting legacy as a Civil Rights leader. The early life of Martin Luther King was an important step towards his doings. Martin Luther King Jr . was born in Atlanta Georgia, on January 15, 1929. His father, Martin Luther King was a pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Malcolm X was a Civil Rights Activist just like Martin Luther King Jr was, but their way of change was the opposite. King wanted change by respecting others and not hurting each other. On the other hand Malcolm X used violence to force change. Using violence was just a repeat of the Civil War and it just made the matter worse. This is why people were attracted to King’s way of change. There were things that challenged Martin Luther King Jr which motivated him to become better. There were several things that challenged King. The thing that both challenged and motivated King the most was the other Civil Rights Activist, Malcolm X. King was motivated by X because King wanted to be better than him and wanted change by respect, not violence. He also was challenged by X because he had a opposite ideas which meant whoever supported one another more, most people will go there.
