Muhammad was a prophet of Islam. He was born in Mecca, and was very interested in religious and social inequalities in his birth town of mecca. Muhammad was also very into meditation at the time, and he would express himself and the religious practices of Islam. Muhammad Was a prominent figure in the religion of Islam. Therefore, he believed that he was Allah’s messenger of the Arabs. Around the time of 613, Muhammad started to spread the word of Islam. He did this by the word of mouth and in the book of the Quran. It wasn't long after until the Arab army defeated the Sassanid empire and took over their land. This time period is significant because they continued to take over more land, which led to expansion and a greater spread of Islam. After they took over the Sassanid Empire they continued the conquest until they reached the Indus river Valley, In which the conquered more land there as well. The Umayyad Caliphate was a prominent dynasty that was inherited by Muslim Caliphs. The Muslim Caliphs ruled one of the largest empires there ever was. The heart of the empire was Damascus,, and the land stretched from Spain to India. Therefore there was a lot of land to cover, and people were drawn to the Umayyad empire because they conquered a lot of land in a short period of time, while maintaining a civilized society.
