How Did Music Influenced Pop Culture

Music has gone through many changes in its time, from being used as a storytelling method to keep folktales alive in tribes, to source of entertainment in modern times music has almost always been around. There have been many artists that have influenced music and helped to make it into the success that it is today. Many artist will be able to point back to one artists that changed their music style or confidence. There have been countless influential people on music from all different styles and genres of music, one is Queen. Queen was an english group who topped charts and were very popular in the 70’s, and 80’s. But, Queen did not only sell out shows and top charts, they paved the way for new artists and musicians coming behind them.

Mercury also supposedly had no formal vocal training, he could comfortably “belt out notes to a tenor's high F”(musicroom.com) . The lead singer also could adapt his sound for any style and was even brilliant at it, according to Roger Daltrey. Another piece of the puzzle the eventually made queen such an inspirational and impactful group to music was the compositions that Mercury was able to write. Mercury was a composer and songwriter for the quartet and instead of creating simple patterns and music that the industry had been used to, he created complicated and ambitious music. His songs were unconventional and would have more than one key change. Mercury also told his fans he could barely read music, which was hard to believe considering most of his songs were composed in many key signatures, something learned when being taught to read music. Mercury often played a concert grand piano and also could play the guitar, but he later brought other players in for performances, this freeing him to move around the stage and bring more energy to his performances. Once Mercury learned the guitar he was able to play acoustics while on stage and when recording songs in the studio, this opened up their songs to a new
