This was the result of the Nazi regime completely dominating everything and everyone in their path. One particularly gruesome technique the Nazi’s used to take over was using children throughout the war. The Nazis exploited lost children during World War II for their personal benefit. This included forced kidnappings for either ‘Germanization’ or awful medical experiments, forced labor in concentration camps, and forced integration into German families who failed to provide for them, ultimately leading to a large number of children being lost without a family. The Nazi’s would choose children who were of ages six to twelve and they would then send them to institutions which would educate them on how to act and believe in Nazism. The children the Nazis chose were taken from their families, resulting in lost children at the end of the war. A primary example of this is seen in a letter written by Jean L. Bailly to Samuel B. Zisman dated October 3rd 1946, in which she explains a handful of children's experience in this Germanization process at an institution. According to Jean, this institution was at “St Heinrich’s Home” and was for “problem children” who were coming from the area of Poland Germany invaded. Jean continues by explaining how many and what kind of children were at this institution as she says “In January 1945 about 400 children of German, Polish, and Czech descent were living there.” Jean continues by explaining how little power the Catholic Sisters who worked at this institution had against the German Poor Relief who controlled the education and the overall management of the
