Nikola Tesla, Mario Andretti, and Alfred Hitchcock all came to America because of the horrible situations they faced in their homeland. The situations included war and money problems. They all arrived in the United States poor and not knowing what they were going to accomplish in America. Nikola Tesla, Mario Andretti, and Alfred Hitchcock were all immigrants to America who significantly changed the fields of science, racing, and movies. Nikola Tesla remarkably changed the field of science with all his outstanding inventions. Tesla was one of five children. When he was young, at first his family thought Nikola would become a clergyman. As a kid, his family was poor and Tesla had a nervous breakdown. The same year Andretti also received the award rookie of the year and placed third in the Indy 500. In 1978, he then went on to win the Formula One World Championship and started becoming an unbelievable driver. Mario also was named Driver of the Century and Driver of the Year in three different decades. He is the oldest Indy car pole winner and has the most Indy car races starts with a total of 370. The biggest accomplishment he has made was that Andretti was the only driver in history to win the three biggest events in racing. The three huge events that he won were the Indy 500, the Daytona 500, and the Formula One World Championship. All of these awards show Mario Andretti's success and how he changed racing. The movie industry was crucially impacted by a movie director named Alfred Hitchcock. When Hitchcock was young he was poor and was made fun of by his own mother. Hitchcock also described himself as an overweight and lonely child. His father died when he was 14 and had to drop out of school to support his needy family. He worked in engineering before he started working in films in 1920 in London. Hitchcock started in the movie business by designing cards that were used in silent films. Their life examples show that anyone can create a legacy from scratch and overcome any type of obstacles. Tesla, Andretti, and Hitchcock arrived in America without money and worked hard to be the best that they could be.
