Nirvana
The band nirvana changed rock music, the band nirvana brought a new sound infusing the punk elements with a more grungy and heavy sound. Nirvana formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987, they catapulted alternative music into mainstream when their breakout album “Nevermind” came out. Their album “Nevermind” took the music industry by surprise since at the time the only music that were like nirvana subculture for example was, punk, rock, and gothic. Since Nirvana had a unique sound and an approach to songwriting and performing, it changed music by helping popularize the grunge movement and starting a new standard for grunge music.

The name Nirvana was settled because the singer Kurt said he “wanted something that was kind of beautiful or nice and pretty instead of a mean, raunchy punk name like the Angry Samons” Before they called themselves nirvana they were known as skid row, fecal matter, and Ted Ed Fred. The British band also known was Nirvana sued Kurt’s band for same name over usage rights of Nirvana name, given that the British band had been active under the name since 1965. Then the two bands eventually gained a settlement in court, but the British Nirvana grasped a chance by releasing a cover of Kurt’s nirvana “come as you are” as part an unreleased Nirvana signs Nirvana covers album.
