He told all these women that he has a wife and a kid at home. Odysseus is a loyal man. He also killed all the men that tried to get to his wife. His wife set up tests for him to see if he is loyal and he passed all the tests. This is why his story is an example of turning tough guys into mush. Who is the name Odysseus? Odysseus is a brave man who helped win the Trojan War. He is married to a woman named Penelope. They also have a son named Telemachus. How and why did Odysseus turn tough guys into mush? He played a big part in winning the Trojan war. He is a brave and strong man. His wife Penelope set up tests to see if Odysseus was loyal. Odysseus passed all the tests with ease and when he got back he killed all his wife's suitors or the men that were trying to get with his wife. Even though many women wanted Odysseus' love, he rejected all of the women that asked for his love. He rejected them because he had a wife and son at home waiting for his return. Odysseus was gone at the Trojan war for so long that his son was so anxious for his return that he couldn't wait any longer that he set out for a search to find his long lost father.
