Osiris had a huge effect on the outcome of the Egyptian’s life. Osiris was an important cause Egyptians. Osiris was a good leader after he was killed.Without Osiris, we would not have believes in the underworld. Osiris has an interesting history. Set caused many problems for Osiris. He was the firstborn child of nut and geb. Osiris was brother to set, nephthys, and isis. He married his sister isis and a son named horus. Osiris became god of the underworld after set killed him while on earth as a mortal form. He is also god of death, rebirth,and resurrection. They were lead by Anubis the god of the dead. At one end was Osiris on a throne accompanied by other deities and 42 judges. The spirit of the deceased had to say a negative confession in front of the deity and the courts. Their heart would be placed on a scale with a feather on the opposite side. If the heart weighed more than the feather the deceased would be devoured by Amit a monster half lion half hippopotamus. If the heart didn’t weigh more they could enter the kingdom of Osiris and attain the fields of Iaru. Before he or she could got to the pleasant goal they had to make a long journey on a boat of the god Ra. The deceased had to cross a lake of fire guarded by four baboons,face crocodiles,snakes, and the evil Apophis. The gigantic monster condemned forever to threaten the sinking of the boat Ra. The only help they had was the amulets and formulas posed by priests during mummification. The eternal life after death in Egypt was not guaranteed. Eternity or immortality wasn't guaranteed either.
