Pedro Ramirez Vazquez a Mexican Architect that revolutionized Mexico and its architecture, making Mexico a place of art and culture and helped expand the importance of education and healthcare throughout Mexico. More than an architect, Pedro Ramirez Vazquez was an urbanist, innovator, graphic and furniture designer, a designer in general, teacher, politician and writer. He helped the community succeed in art, education and entertainment. He changed Mexico with his design of the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City and his input and work during and for the 1968 Olympics that took place in Mexico.

It has five floors of stands and a cantilevered roof to help protect the people from the sun and rain. The roof has armors of steel and plates of aluminum. The Azteca Stadium was remodeled, to be used for the 1968 Olympics. The story behind the project of el Estadio Azteca is that they wanted to be the organizers of a world soccer cup, but Fifa said that a stadium with 100 thousand capacity was required and hence the idea was born. The only stadium at that time was the stadium in Jalisco but did not have the capacity needed. They then decided to make a contest as to who would design and build said stadium and so Azcarraga (owner of Univision and shareholder of Televisa) could invest in the project. Pedro Ramirez Vazquez won and began the design. He says that there were two systems to build the stadium, one was concrete and the other metal for the roofing. The design of the stages was what made it one of a kind. The construction of the stadium lasted four years, since there were difficulties around the site. The site had volcanic rock which made it difficult to cement. The construction for the stadium consisted of ten architects, thirty-four engineers, fifteen technicians, and eight-hundred workers.
