-From the advent of daguerreotype (1839) till late 19th century, discuss in detail how photography has influenced and impacted the form and process of painting.

With the invention of photography the role of painting came into question. Up until the mid-19 century painting was very academic. The painters in this time were concerned with replicating what they saw with high accuracy. They were also concerned with painting what their patrons wanted. Patronage was something that played a vital role in an artist’s life during the renaissance time period. As the 19 century began the academic style which was favoured by the official salons and the patrons soon began to change. Artists wanted to show events from real life of middle class or poor class people instead of glorifying upper class patrons. Their concerns had shifted to showing the truth and started making the regular people their subjects. This was around the time daguerreotype photography was announced.
EMMERGENCE OF DAGUERREOTYPE PHOTOGRAPHY.

It had the power to show the real flaws of the elite and noble class instead of glamourizing their lifestyle. The realist artists took from this concept and added the truth aspect of photography to their art. Art had always been in the favor of the rich and powerful , it had always showed them in glamor and never showed their flaws but with photography that changed. Reality could be seen as it is.
