resident Roosevelt is one of the most well known presidents. He was known for helping bring back America from the problems it faced in the industrial revolution. He really showed the big part of the progressive era. He tried to promote social welfare, expand democracy, and create economic reform. This help make all the solutions to the problems that were the issue in the U.S. After the industrial revolution the U.S. had multiple problems.
First off Franklin Roosevelt aggressively formulated programs and took decisive action to expand role of government. Delegation led to enhanced powers, and Supreme Court eventually allowed the New Deal; power was given to FDR because of the economic crisis of the Great Depression. The New Deal did nothing to ensure that rights guaranteed to all Americans via the Constitution, such as the right to vote and the right to a fair trial, were guaranteed to blacks. Because of this President Roosevelt had to greatly increase the responsibilities of his office. Franklin Roosevelt believed in stretching the presidential powers.
He created programs to open up jobs for people, set minimum wages, help the homeless and so much more. Roosevelt also wanted to protect the banks and restore confidence in them. He created a banking holiday, where every bank was shut down in the U.S. until the U.S. treasury approved it. The citizens could be confident in the opened bank, by the treasury’s approval to continue operation. He looked out for the youth through enabling them to earn money to help their family, but also further an education.

Franklin Roosevelt was a very influential and important president in American history who had an immense impact on the American economy and social policy during the 1930’s and 40’s and throughout the future of America, he also shared some ideas with the author John Steinbeck. He idolized Theodore Roosevelt, and took great inspiration from him. He has served as president for longer than any other president in history, serving for three terms instead of the usual two that is generally accepted as the maximum amount of time that a president can serve. He drove America out of the great depression and through the second world war.

Roosevelt believed that the President had the right to use all power unless they were denied to him. Roosevelt’s presidency opened up creativity of progressive movement, lending the prestige of the White House to welfare legislation, government regulation, and the conservation movement.
Prior to losing the election of 1912, he helped the U.S with by doing anything he could to uphold America and its citizens. He also aided in American access to the Panama Canal. On economical terms, Roosevelt was the trust-buster, breaking all of the bad trusts in big businesses. He also was the president who enforced the Sherman Antitrust Act. Socially, he preserved millions of acres of land, entitling citizens to interact and have leisure time, and wildlife to prosper.

There are two major ways that Theodore Roosevelt transformed the role and responsibility of the federal government. The first transformation made was the reservation of the natural resources which were being abused and used to benefit only few people. Out of many of his great acts, his most notable aspect was his ability to unite America, a country often divided of opinion, against a common ally to better the country. His speech, The Pearl Harbor Address to the Nation, was given during a very difficult time of American history. Despite the despicable tragedy that had just struck Hawaii exactly one day before the given speech, Roosevelt had the ability to remind the American people of their bravery and perseverance. His ultimate goal was to convince Congress to declare war on Japan, which they did exactly that literally minutes after Roosevelt gave his famous speech.
Once Roosevelt was elected president and was in the office he began his transformation of the federal government. Roosevelt’s philosophy was things would get better by him taking charge. This inspired his theory of the New Deal. He believed we did not need to go into war mode to recover from the Great Depression. Roosevelt reformed the Stock Market, gave aid to the unemployed, induced agricultural and industrial recovery, and helped the banking system.
Roosevelt viewed the office of the President as a major leader in the legislative process. During a time where reform was required, Roosevelt was able to change the public opinion in order to push reforms through Congress. Never before, did the President go to the public to promote policies, but Roosevelt did because he knew it was the most effective way to bring the necessary change to the United States. By doing so, he helped pass many reforms like the Pure Food and Drug Act, which helped keep Americans safe from harmful foods and drugs. In addition,
