How Did Roosevelt's Desire To Regulate Big Business

Roosevelt was widely known as our first modern president. What made him so special was that he believed the president had all power unless it was denied to him. Roosevelt's desire to make society fairer and equitable, with economic possibilities for all Americans, was one of his biggest assets. He also changed the government's relationship to big business. Before his presidency, the government had generally given the big business of industry freedom to accomplish their goals. Roosevelt pushed that the government had the right and the responsibility to regulate big business so that their actions did not negatively affect the general public. Roosevelt’s presidential style never went unnoticed and he introduced "charisma" into the political equation.
