This essay is intriguing for many reasons, first of all Stravinsky himself is a fascinating composer. You could say that Stravinsky is one of the most influential 20th century composer but still today we hear Stravinsky’s works being played and performed still today, this suggests that his music is important but his music also left a lasting effect on his audiences and musicians throughout the years. According to Encyclopædia Britannica Stravinsky's work “ had a revolutionary impact on musical thought and sensibility before he died and World War 1” this just goes to show how much Stravinsky accomplished and how much he influenced others with his music. Stravinsky also produced some extraordinary operas, his first opera was named “ Solvey” also known as the “Nightingale”, this opera was performed by Sergey Dyagiler, he also produce some of Stravinsky’s other works. Between 1920 and 1939 Igor Stravinsky lived in Paris this is where most of his ballets were written. Stravinsky travelled a lot and with this he came upon many different styles he used and changed them according to what he was composing. The USA was among the wide range of countries that he visited not only did he visit the USA once but three times, Stravinsky finally settled in the USA from 1939-1971. He lived in Los Angles where his final opera was composed in 1957 named “ The Rakes Progress”, eight years after his final composition he took his last breaths in New York in 1971 this was his final destination while he was alive but he was buried in …show more content…

The Rite of Spring is the last of the trio of ballets “which Stravinsky composed for Diaghilev's ballet Russes” (Hill.P, 2000).Within Stravinsky’s composition “The Rite of Spring” you finds so many unusual and controversial innovative musical features, some have been seen before while the other musical features are of his own conjuring this is where the controversy of the work begins. The Work not only brought controversy to the floor but it also brought a sense of inception behind this piece.
