“The use of the atomic bomb, with its indiscriminate killing of women and children, revolts my soul.”-Herbert Hoover. The effects of the atomic bombs were catastrophic in Japan and they impact many of their lives still today. The atomic bomb droppings in Japan have caused many mental, physical, and genetic disorders, as well as leaving many children orphaned, and causing fear that should not have had to been a part of Japanese citizens everyday lives.
I don’t think that it is humane to cause so much terror in a person that any time they see a plane they run and hide in a shelter. There are two different types of radiation, initial and induced. An example of initial radiation is black rain. Black rain was a thick, oil-like substance that fell soon after the bombings. It was a dangerously radioactive water that was ingested by breathing or drinking the contaminated water. Induced radiation was found in things like soil and concrete.
