During the fifteen century period, various regions of the world were evolving in different ways. Each region had different trading systems, fought their wars according to what they felt might portray their country as outstanding, and treated their enemies with a certain amount of respect. As a result, each region developed differently. For instance, in the Americas one can see how differently the Aztecs and the Incas dealt with their war tactics and how that effected their region. Correspondingly in Southeast Asia and Europe, India and Turkey had development war tactics that helped them win their battles. They were known for successful conquering other lands without violence. The reason they were so successful in conquering lands was because, according to Pedro De Cieza De Leon’s writing in Chronicles of the Incas, he states that “they entered many lands without war, and the soldiers who accompanied the Inca were ordered to do no damage or harm, robbery or violence” (Strayer, 598). The soldiers were also commanded to make sure that the land and the crops of the other party were not to be damaged. In fact, “if there was shortage of food in the province, he ordered supplies brought in from other regions so that those newly won to his service would not find his rule and acquaintance irksome” (Strayer, page 598). Unlike the Aztecs, the Incas would gain their dominance and others admiration by respecting their enemies and making sure they were not highly effected by the war. Due to these guidelines, “the Incas always come out victorious, and when they had vanquished the others, they did not do them further harm, but released those they had taken prisoner, if they were any, and restored the booty, and put them back in possession of their property and rule” (Strayer, 598). Unlike the Aztecs, they had no interest in cannibalistic beliefs. Instead, they treated their enemies with respect and made sure that the land was not to be harmed and the prisoners and captives were let go once the war was over and because of that, they always came out victorious in their battles.
