The Beatles is arguably the most popular and influential band to ever create music. The influence they had on people was absolutely astonishing. The Beatles group that everyone knows consists of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. All of the members were born and raised in Liverpool, England. The Beatles released a staggering thirteen albums in only seven years! They were undoubtedly the most popular group in America for their time. It all started out when John Lennon created his first band called “The Quarrymen” with his friend Pete Shotton at only sixteen years old. They played “skiffle” music. Skiffle is “a jazz style of the 1920s deriving from blues, ragtime, and folk music, played by bands made up of both standard and improvised instruments” (dictionary.com). Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. This album turned out to be very appealing to the youth, as it consisted of the elements of the 60’s youth culture: “pop art, garish fashion, drugs, instant mysticism, and freedom from parental control” (Beatles Tribute Bands).
