Was European expansion between 1450 and 1700 aided more by guns or by germs? As the 16th century was fast approaching the general opinion in Europe was one of a new age, an age of exploration and expansion. This opinion was motivated by an appeal to new trade, the opportunity of new wealth and the option to spread Christianity which was so prominent in Europe, to other parts of the world. In order to assess how this was achieved two factors need to be considered: guns and germs.

After the Civil War, many northerners began to promote the west, they wanted to advise people that there was scientific evidence that rain follows the plow. These promoters began promoting these images in magazines and writing articles to address that the west would soon be known as "The Garden of America. " People began to pack up all they had and moved to the west in hopes of providing for their families. It was a time of desperation for many Americans, newly freed Africa-Americans thought it would be a great opportunity to move out to the west. Corporations began to move west as well, the development of agribusiness began.
The rapid industrialization of the United States brought many changes to its people. New technologies, inventions, and the railroad brought better fuels, stronger steels, changed the way people lit their homes, and even changed the way people did their shopping. The integrated railroad was especially exciting, because it would allow people to move from the west coast to the east coast as they pleased. Economic development was also on the rise, especially in the west. Americans were excited to discover and tame the “wild west”, eager to claim a piece of land that they could call their own.
During the first half of the 19 century America expanded west through land purchases,wars, and treaties. The trails to the west were the oregan trail and the santa fe trail. I am 35 years old and I have never been to the East side of America. This has been a dream of mine since I was a little boy, and up until this point the idea of traveling to the East was thought of as an impossible journey. When I found out that the idea was put out to make a railroad that extended from the West coast of America to the East coast of America I wanted to be a part of it. With this railroad I have the chance to connect two sides of the country together, and I am prepared to work as hard as I need to to get the railroad finished.

The process of migration involved the movement of people from one location to another in order to settle in a new place of residence. Even before the industrial period, it was typical behaviour for Europeans to move from their home and take on the role of a farm servant, annually rotating between areas. This was particularly true within the framework of young, rural communities.
The conquest of Gaul by the Romans was a very key moment throughout ancient history. Gaul was captured by the Romans between the years 58 BC to 51 BC. Julius Cesar led an army campaign that would forever change the Roman empire. This conquest finally solidified Rome's power over Gaul and gave them control over the land that they were looking for. This ultimately shaped the later years in ancient history.
The Romans didn’t have much command over the province, but they did have some connections to the further side of the border. Caesar speedily took benefit of these connections to extend the boundaries of Rome beyond the borders of Gaul. Caesar decided to invade Britain, whose tribes seemed to have close relations with Gaul. These expeditions were well-celebrated by the Romans as for the first time Rome had expanded so far. However, Vercingetorix, a noble tribesman of Gaul, with his men, surprisingly rose against Caesar, threatening his power in Gaul.
