During the Civil War there were many differences besides slavery. This war had the most American deaths than all of the wars the U.S. has been in combined! The south seceded from the north for slavery and other less important reasons. The North had more of nearly everything like navy, soldiers,horses, and food, while the south had slaves, cotton, and donkeys/mules. Throughout the war many great leaders rose and fell, battles fought, and great and terrible outcomes.
The United States Civil War is possible one of the most meaningful, bloodstained and controversial war fought in American history. Northern Americans against Southern Americans fought against one another for a variety of motives. These motives aroused from a wide range of ideologies that stirred around the states. In James M. The Civil War had concluded and America was on the path to rebuilding itself as a single nation. America experienced many changes such as large amounts of urbanization and industrialization, while also taking their own chance at imperialism. America’s urbanization and industrialization was a result of the Civil War. Many individuals began transitioning from rural areas to urban areas by the beginning of the twentieth century. These urban areas began to experience new inventions such as the automobile, highways, and entertainment such as sports and film.
To say the time period following the Civil War in the United States involved a lot of change would be a understatement. Between the years 1870 and 1900 the people of the United States lived through a period of great change. Not only did they witness technological advances that would change their daily lives, they also saw new laws and organizations formed. All of this was done in hopes of improving the country. Many of these changes came about because of the type of businesses that were formed.
During the Reconstruction Era in 1865, many U.S Americans died during the Civil War fighting against the Confederate States of America. The number of deaths is estimated about 600,000, which left a legacy ruin for the South (Lecture notes). The Civil War might have killed over 600,000 Americans, but it also helped build many new things. The War fused the nation into a more economic and social nation by building more systems such as banks, railroads and most importantly a new society committed to industrialization (Lecture notes). It also changed slaves lives because the war destroyed slavery!
The Civil War changed Americans and slavery in many ways. The war came with a cost. Over 620,000 people died from the union or confederacy. People lost many family members. They realized that they could have figured out another way to solve their differences.
The aftermath of the Civil War caused drastic transformations among the American people between the years 1860 and 1880. Of these changes rose the issues of political and social relations within the nation. The issues of political and social relationships arose among several different groups of people, causing these relationships to drastically change. Through the transformations of public liberty, right of succession, and slavery, the Civil War and it's inevitable aftermath was able to alter the political and social relationships that had been instilled in the fabric of America before the times of 1860.

Northern and Southern United states began to have simmering tensions for the states’ rights versus federal authority, plus westward expansion, and slavery had huge effects on the states. An election which made anti-slavery Republican Abraham Lincoln the president of the United States of America in 1860, caused seven of the southern states to concede from the Union to make The Confederate States Of America soon after four more joined afterwards. It changed Americans in many ways as neighbors fought each other through the 4 gruesome years of the war. Conflict between the sides were like fights between brother and brother instead with many deaths.

Many can ask and wonder how it was possible for the civil war to change America. The honest answer is that it impacted America in many ways. The 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments, the Panic of 1873, and the formation of the Ku Klux Klan are just a few examples of heavily impacting events for the United States. During the Reconstruction period there were numerous political transformations in the country.
