The Dust Bowl Diary by Ann Marie Low is an incredible piece of documentation about the struggles and hardships that were faced during the infamous Dust Bowl. In this diary, Low dives deep into many different subjects of struggle and change, and it is truly fascinating. In today's society, people take everything for granted. The survivors and witnesses of these horrible years are people that everyone should look up to as an example. In our world, eating the same food, or sleeping in an uncomfortable way is unbearable, but those problems were the least of the concerns of these people.
Life is not always about good days and but sometimes bad days are possible in life. After the great wars, the United States enjoyed 10 years of flourishing life after the great war. This period Known as the boom period or return of normalcy was a period of uninterrupted wealthy living and also overspending. This wealthy living and overproduction led to hardship in the 1930s. These Acts led to the worst economic failure in the history of in United State of America.
Donald Worster is an environmental historian and his book Dust Bowl: The Southern Plains in the 1930s helped to define the environmental history movement as it was the first environmental history book published. He breaks the stereotype of how the Dust Bowl was viewed by writing it from an environmental standpoint instead of writing a social history by focusing solely on the people and their experiences. How it helped to define the environmental history movement is that it opened up this avenue for others to write about environmental issues. He is also an anti-capitalist and this book combines his interest in the environment with the effect that capitalism has on the environment.

In the dust bowl clip people were fighting and was determined to stay alive.
The Dust Bowl was a time during the Great Depression where there was major drought and extremely heavy dust winds. The Dust Bowl impacted many people and changed their lives forever. It was very hard to survive during the Dust Bowl, and many people didn’t. Unemployment rates increased dramatically due to migration and the dry farms. The Dust Bowl marked a major turning point for the United States, and it tested many people and their ways of life.
o Kill A Mockingbird is where a little girl named scout watched her dad defend blacks against whites. It also relates to the Dust Bowl. In the book a guy named Mr.Cunningham had to pay people with food because the Dust Bowl destroyed a lot of things and the people who were affected by it were basically left with nothing. The Dust Bowl was were down in some of the southern states there was a lot of wind and it cause a ton of dust to rise and destroy everything.
Eight Months in the Dust Bowl One group of ninth graders was put to the task of surviving one winter, 240 days, in the dust bowl with limited food and water. During this eight months the group of four, two males and two females, had only one cow, one bull, 500 bushels of wheat, and 500 gallons of drinkable water. This group decided that the best way to survive would be that every person would get 2.6 gallons of water to last them 5 days and after that five days pass each person would get an additional 2.6 gallons.
The central idea of ¨Spring 1934¨ is that the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression affect everyday life for Billie Jo very much. One reason for the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression affecting Billie Jo is because the dust is causing her family to lose money. In ¨Out of The Dust¨ the drought causes Billie Jo's dad who is a farmer to not be able to grow any wheat, and with no wheat he can't make money. Another reason why the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression affect Billie Joś everyday life is because it causes there to be less resources. For example, In ¨Out of the Dust¨ mostly all of the wheat in the town has died, so they have to adjust their everyday living so they can deal with not having as much food.

Two who are leaning on her shoulder and one who is still an infant on her lap. This photo became the well know photograph called the Great Depression of America.
Food is a rivalrous good because once a meal is consumed, another person cannot consume it. Food is also excludable because ownership rights can be defined for it. As in, if one pays for it, it is defined as theirs. Since food is rivalrous and excludable, food is also viewed as a private good that seems to have more negative externalities than positive externalities. One of them being the ecological effects that result from producing the food such as the excess topsoil which is what caused the dust bowls of the 1930s.
“With the gales came the dust. Sometimes it was so thick that it completely hid the sun. Visibility ranged from nothing to fifty feet, the former when the eyes were filled with dirt which could not be avoided, even with goggles ”( Richardson 59). The Dust Bowl was a huge dust storm in the 1930s that stretched from western Kansas to New Mexico. People that lived in that area could not step outside or they would get dust in their lungs.

The dust bowl was so devastating that it ruined the U.S. economy, destroyed homes and farms, and forced people out of their homes and the only life they ever knew. The Dust Bowl ruined the U.S economy. The 1988–89 drought was the most economically devastating natural disaster in the history of the United States (Economics of the Dust Bowl).The U.S has had many economic disasters and if the dust bowl was considered the worst of those disasters that means the economic effects were devastating.
Today was for real “Click” the door went as I walked into the hall. I was seeing so many faces, excited for the season to start. As excited as we were, the 6th graders looked nervous. And a 5,6,7,8 Waiting for my mom to get home the to go to dance try-outs, so nervous. I was running all around the house to find my dance shoes.
