The Enlightenment shaped the world’s view of European culture. Before the Enlightenment, royalty ruled all, the firstborn son would of been the next King. This will prove to be a restriction because we didn't have a choice. When the Enlightenment came into the picture, it was a notable representation of social, religious and political ideas. Those who started the Enlightenment were philosophers who questioned the uniformity of the world. Of these philosophers I believe that René Descartes, John Locke, and Baron de Montesquieu had the biggest influence for on the Enlightenment. John Locke believed that everyone is equal and that we should have natural rights, giving us the right to life, liberty, and property. It's valuable to have natural rights
