Dear Emperor Qin I think building the Great Wall was a very bad idea. The Great Wall is a wall built to protect the citizens. Some people want the Great Wall to be there but, I don't think it is a good idea. They are wrong because a lot of people died and a lot of other things happened.
The Great Wall of China—started in 221 BCE during the Qin dynasty, was built to keep the northern invaders from attacking China. This 5,488 miles long wall was built over a 2,000 year period by dynasties that devoted their time in its construction. While it did provide benefits such as protection and spread ideas to other empires, it wasn’t enough to outweigh the costs of money, lives, and isolation from families. Chinese people feared their archenemy—the Xiongnu, thinking that they will conquer China. They decided to build a massive wall to keep them away from taking over, but also wanted to keep a peaceful relationship.
A lot of the characters wear warm colours such as red and yellow. Buggin Out is wearing a yellow shirt and Radio Raheem wears a mix of red, yellow and orange. This not only represents the heat but is symbolic of the rage that the characters have inside because we know that these two characters show a lot of anger and violence throughout the film. Another example of this is the bright red wall that is seen behind the three men sitting at the corner. The colour of the wall represents the anger and frustration the men are feeling as they sit around and complain.
While the use of colors mostly explains Gatsby himself, Gatsby’s mansion is also another symbolic reference that applies to the character. The huge scale of the mansion shows an immense amount of wealth but the inside of it is too vacant for one person to live in it, just like how Gatsby appears to be rich but is really lonely. Yet he tries to justify this emptiness by filling it with people every week during his parties, similarly to how he justifies how he got his fortune by making Daisy his entire focus. As a matter of fact, the entire mansion symbolizes his passion for her by using the “new money” from West Egg to build a house that is on par with the “old money” of East Egg, the people who took Daisy away from him. What may seem like a

The colors white, yellow, blue, and green shape the novel’s characters and plot, resulting in a vivid story of love and blind pursuance. This is what Gatsby is pursuing throughout the novel until he tragically perishes, his dream never becoming a reality.

“The light grew brighter as the earth lurches away from the sun, and now the orchestra is playing yellow cocktail music, and the opera of voices pitches a key higher” (Fitzgerald 40). The color yellow symbolizes happiness; even though the yellow sunlight is gone the orchestra’s music continues to give happiness. Yellow is also seen as a color close to gold. There is a lot of focus on Gatsby’s yellow car. “it was a big yellow car, he said, “big yellow car.

Essay 1 Appearances of leaders mark the end of non-hierarchical primitive society and demonstrate how different social classes form as the timeline moves forward. Once the leader realizes his superiority over the rest of population, he need something to emphasize his unique status. The initial change is his house and it gradually converts into majestic buildings that we usually call palaces now. Emperors construct and design these palaces in different purposes. They are not only beautiful architecture but also the heart of politics or economics in their countries.
Fitzgerald uses the colors yellow and gold as a symbol for both wealth, falsehoods, and death. Throughout the novel many objects are singled out and emphasized for their yellow color. From the golden yellow turkeys at Gatsby’s party and Gatsby’s yellow tie to more importantly his bright yellow car and the spectacles of Dr. T.J. Eckleberg, the emphasis on the color yellow makes its symbolic use unquestionable. Traditionally yellow and gold have been symbols of money and the upper-class. The novel maintains a connection between the color gold and affluence through Daisy; Gatsby says “‘[Daisy’s] voice is full of money,’” and Nick adds that “the inexhaustible charm that [rises] and [falls] … high in a white palace the king’s daughter, the golden
The color of white symbolizes corruption as in the example of Gatsby showing the policeman a white card to not get in trouble. The color of yellow symbolizing wealth as represented with Gatsby’s luxurious car which shows how wealthy he is. And, the color green symbolizes the future as it symbolizes the future and dream because of Gatsby’s wanted dream/future he wanted with Daisy as the green light is at her house. So in conclusion, the symbolism of color in the book is a major part of the novel and there are many other colors in the novel that have symbolism like gray, silver or gold, but these colors stood out the most in The Great
Item 2: Color Chart: In the book “The Great Gatsby,” by F. Scott Fitzgerald, colors have been used to represent the character’s unapparent and underlying thoughts, feelings, status and class. Through the motif of colors, Fitzgerald depicts the feelings of the character as he refers to a specific color while describing each one of them. The colors make a deep impact on the readers as they contain a profound meaning throughout the novel. There are around five main colors in the novel appearing frequently: white, yellow, green, blue and grey, which help the novel look more gaudy and idealistic.
Egyptian blue was used for under drawings and for color modulation, meaning it was laid down first only to be used later in the painting process.
