When you think of the Revolutionary War you think of the brave men fighting in the war, and how it was just the beginning for America; but we never think about how we actually got to a point for a revolution or how this revolution even came about. There are many components that lead up to the war, including the French and Indian War in 1763. The French and Indian War might not have started the Revolutionary War, but it helped pave the path in that direction, giving the colonists the confidence and independence it needed, drowning England in debt, and growing the resentment between the British and the Colonists. One factor the French and Indian war did for the colonists was providing them confidence and independence as a country. Fighting alongside the British gave the colonists military experience and helped them realize that they did not need the big bad British to protect them, especially if they weren’t fight very well in battle. Until the battle of Louisburg in July 1758 England was not flourishing in battle, and by that time the colonists had made up their minds and decided that England was not as potent as it was made out to be. England failed to meet the necessities of the colonists and dismissed their plans and ideas; leaving the colonists to fend for themselves. Instead of doing what was best for both countries England was working to find the best option for England and doing so with getting little blood on their hands. Case in point, the Proclamation of 1763, when Colonists’ were banned from moving west so protect Indian lands, when the real reason was England didn’t want the Indians coming after them, and wanted the colonists closer. Realizing this the colonists knew that it was time to break the ties with
