France has always had a lively history and has consistently been a pivotal part in Europe. None so prevalent as when this country constantly experienced revolutions during a 60 year period. Revolution, by definition, is the overthrow of one government or a new and hopefully improved one, but from 1789 to 1848 France had terrible governments followed by just as terrible revolutions and nothing seemed to work for them. In fact it was as if France never truly progressed in all of that time.
