How Did The Golden Age Cause Western Civilization

The “golden age” of Greece or the “Age of Pericles” was the main cause of western civilization. That age began with defeat of a Persian army and ended with an outrageous and long war between Athens and Sparta. However, there was much progress in many fields including government, art, philosophy, drama and literature during that period of time. Some of the most familiar Greek names lived in that prosperous era. Some classical scholars referred to that time as the Greek miracle. That development could not be happened without the Athens’ citizens and encouraging environment. The citizens were filled with enthusiasm and self-confidence. They were completely convinced that Athens provided what London - Paris - New York could offer together. Victory
