During the Prohibition era, the Mafia dominated America. The Mafia made themselves well known as criminals during this era. The Mafia changed people lives and made them live in fear, but by this they sparked a metaphorical fire in America. The Mafia left America with the question “How can this end?” the Mafia was progressed to damage America and create chaos. The American Mafia was a crime network organization. The Sicilian Mafia in Italy was under attack from Benito Mussolini and his regime. Some Sicilian Mafia men managed to escape to the United States, where they started bootlegging and became well known as the American Mafia. When the 18th amendment was passed, many Americans were without alcohol and needed it desperately, so these Italian men came up with making and distributing moonshine/alcohol and other illicit drug “The mafia sold and distributed alcohol during the pronation era” (History.com).
