The market revolution changed women’s roles within the family economy by taking away their jobs at home and placing them in factories. Before The Industrial Revolution, all work and income happened at home; men worked in the fields and farms while the women produced cloth. But once the Industrial Revolution came, many families lost their income to factories where production happen quicker. Many people started leaving their farms to move to the city for work because they no longer could sustain living off their farms. Women were the first to lose their “jobs” because the factories were able to produce twice as many threads and cloth as the women so their communities no longer needed their services. Not only in their communities but in their
